WooWeekly #341: Non-Discountable Product

Hope all is well with you!

Here in Sicily (Italy) spring is in full swing, finally! I’ve been enjoying morning walks and long conversations (“uuuuugh, ahhhhhh, ohhhhhhh, eh eheheh, auuuuuuu”) with 3-months-old Lorenzo lately and that makes me so happy. I work in the afternoon and that gives me the right balance, despite I get little sleep and social life. But it’s worth it. Looking forward to taking Lorenzo to the beach in June, curious to know how he’ll react!

Also, quick note, today (Wednesday, March 31, 2021) I’m the guest speaker on WooCommerce Live for “Customizing WooCommerce with Confidence”. I thank WooCommerce for inviting me and I hope some of you can make it (it’s for beginners, we’ll take a look at simple customization for single product, shop and checkout pages): https://www.meetup.com/woocommerce-live-global/events/276973206/

Anyhow, welcome back to our WooCommerce Weekly appointment – here comes a series of WooCommerce tutorials put together by yours truly so that you can learn something new.

New WooCommerce Tip

WooCommerce: Exclude Product From Discount Coupons

WooCommerce coupon settings allow you to define allowed products (or product categories). What’s missing, however, is the other way around: how to set up a product so that it can never be discounted? Thankfully, a handy WooCommerce filter comes to the rescue (“woocommerce_coupon_is_valid_for_product”) and we can therefore make all coupons “invalid” when a given product is in the cart.
