I haven’t managed to fully enjoy this week, but I’ll do my best to make the next one better. Getting back to tennis helped a little, and I also discovered something pretty obvious in hindsight: I hadn’t restrung my rackets in over two years. So yes, the painful wrist may have had something to do with that. I really need Claude Code to remind me about these things next time!
Speaking of CC, the last couple of weeks have been very much about building. I’ve been working in parallel on several projects, including a few side projects because… why not, and my new friend has been surprisingly proactive and productive. I feel like I should have started using it months ago, but I tend to take my time with new technology. You can already have a look at the very rough first version of CartRules.com, and I’ll be announcing the next project soon. Lots more building to come.

…and then Claude Code walked in as well, and neither of us had a clue what we were doing.
For 15 years running Business Bloomer, I’ve built small WooCommerce plugins and code snippets designed to be lean and readable. I’ve sold them, gifted them, and published them on my site… but I never touched the official WordPress.org repository.

WooCommerce 11.1: What’s coming for developers

The integer that delayed WooCommerce 11.0
On July 28, the WooCommerce team announced that 11.0 would not ship that day. New date: August 4.
That is the whole announcement, which is fair enough for a release note, but “a fatal error under specific circumstances from a new performance feature” is exactly the kind of sentence that makes me want to open the repository. So I did.
It is a good bug. It comes from one of the oldest quirks in PHP, it was triggered by an extension rather than by core, and the fix the team chose is the part I actually want to talk about.
