WooWeekly #596: Checkout Summit {Reloaded} | WooCommerce Market Share

Hello there,

Welcome back to WooWeekly—where ~20,000 WooCommerce builders come each week for actionable tips, sharp insights, and the occasional strong opinion.

I’m doing well this week, mostly trying to rest and recover after the in-person conference. It was intense, and now that it’s over I finally have a bit of space to think about what’s next—for me, for the business, and for this new project now that it’s been validated in the real world.

But Checkout Summit is not over yet… Checkout Summit {Reloaded} kicks off tomorrow (May 7)! 90+ Woo makers have already joined, and you should too. Here’s a 50% coupon discount for you so you can hear from 20 amazing speakers including J. Kemp, K. Keith, J. Kohlback, P. Rauland, and more: CW8AW4ZY (sign up at https://checkoutsummit.com/reloaded before tomorrow). Hope to “see” you there!

Anyhow, here comes your weekly round-up of WooCommerce tips and tricks. Enjoy!

Let’s Stop Stressing About WooCommerce Market Share

Everyone keeps asking the same thing… what’s WooCommerce market share right now?

And depending on where you look, you’ll get a different answer. One source says one thing, another says something else. It goes up, it goes down, sometimes it feels like it changes every week. And yes, it’s kind of interesting… I get it.

But here’s the thing: we’ve slowly turned that number into a scoreboard.

YouTube Shopping is live for WooCommerce — here’s how to make the most of it

You can now tag products directly in your YouTube videos, Shorts, live streams, and channel page — and send viewers straight to your WooCommerce store. YouTube Shopping is live in Google for WooCommerce 3.6.0.

It’s been one of the most-requested integrations we’ve ever shipped: 15 feature requests, more than 180 votes, and a steady stream of messages from merchants running a growing YouTube channel on one side and a WooCommerce store on the other with no native way to connect them.

Master the Triggers and Logic Behind WooCommerce Email Automation

WooCommerce includes 11 built-in email notifications, covering order confirmations, shipping updates, password resets, and more! So your store’s essential communication is handled out of the box.

For more advanced email marketing features like abandoned cart recovery, welcome sequences, or post-purchase follow-ups, WooCommerce gives you the flexibility to integrate a plugin or external platform that fits your needs.

Bug Blitz: How Woo’s happiness team crushed 150+ backlogged bugs

Our team just submitted 150+ bug fixes to more than 20 products across our catalog, in a matter of weeks. It’s changing how we think about what’s possible in the future: let’s talk about it.

[..] Known bugs shouldn’t sit in a backlog when our people often already have an idea of what the fix could look like. We agreed we could do better, and pulled in Lance, the head of quality at Automattic. A week later, all Woo Happiness Engineers (what we call our support teams) were invited to try to fix bugs, at a fast pace. Lance called it a “bug blitz.”
