Hello there,
Welcome back to WooWeekly! Every week, I curate tips and tutorials to help you sharpen your WooCommerce skills.
My kid will be at home from Dec 20 until Jan 8—now how am I going to get any work done? Lol, I love the holidays. Thankfully, we’re heading to Rome for the New Year, so at least I’ll keep him busy!
On the business side, I’m catching up with work, partners, and clients after the Black Friday madness, where it felt like everyone disappeared. Thankfully, I always manage to carve out time for Checkout Summit prep. This week it’s all about finalizing the speaker lineup (7 announced, 5 to go), locking in sponsors (2 signed, 4 to go), and enabling the “plus one” tickets so attendees can bring family or friends for the evening events—they won’t have to be on their own the whole time.
Now I just need to find the time to actually get everything done…
Anyhow, here’s your weekly round-up of WooCommerce tips and tricks. Enjoy!

WooCommerce Tips, Snippets & Tutorials
Here is a collection of posts to answer your biggest WooCommerce questions. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced store owner, these resources will help you optimize your WooCommerce store and grow your online business.
WooCommerce: Send Email When a Coupon Is Used
Coupons are often more than just discounts. They can represent affiliate partnerships, internal promotions, manual workflows, or campaigns that need tracking beyond basic WooCommerce reports. Yet, by default, WooCommerce doesn’t notify anyone when a coupon is actually redeemed in an order. This code snippet solves that gap by sending a custom email whenever a specific coupon is used at checkout. You can notify an affiliate that their code was redeemed, alert yourself as the admin for tracking purposes, or inform a store manager that a manual action is required after purchase. The logic is simple, lightweight, and hooks directly into the “order complete” process, so it runs only when it matters. See code snippet on Business Bloomer
When to Use a WooCommerce Price Matrix Instead of Dropdown Menus
When products come with variations, quantities, or wholesale tiers, the way prices are displayed can either build confidence or create hesitation. A layout that feels clear and intuitive helps shoppers understand their options quickly, without second-guessing what they’re about to buy. This post looks at two common approaches in WooCommerce: price matrices and dropdowns. It explains how each one works, where each shines, and why neither is always the right answer. The goal is simple—choose the pricing display that matches your products and your customers, so the buying experience feels faster, clearer, and more natural. Read article on Studio Wombat
How to Reduce Friction Points in Your Ecommerce Checkout
Every lost sale has a familiar story behind it. A customer is ready to buy, card in hand, but something slows them down. A confusing form, an unexpected step, a moment of doubt—and the checkout is abandoned. That’s why checkout friction matters so much. The difference between a smooth path and a bumpy one often decides whether a purchase is completed or forgotten. This post looks at ten common friction points that quietly hurt conversions and shows practical ways to remove them. Before jumping into fixes, though, the article takes a step back to explain why a frictionless checkout isn’t just a “nice to have,” but a direct driver of sales, revenue, and customer trust. If you care about making it easier for customers to say yes, this one’s worth your time. Read article on IconicWP
