Hello there,
Welcome back to WooWeekly! I’m glad you’re here for another round of WooCommerce insights. Every week, I curate tips and tutorials for you to help you sharpen your WooCommerce skills.
I’m off to Catania for a few days of family time and (hopefully) some proper recharging. We’ve got Etnaland on our list—never been, but it sounds like fun. I’ll report back with bruises or photos, depending on the rollercoasters.
On the business side, yesterday’s class was the most attended ever with 126 registrants—huge thanks if you were part of it. I’d love to keep the momentum going, although I’ll likely pause live sessions during the summer… it’s not fair (to you) to watch me teach Woo from a beach towel!
April wasn’t great revenue-wise: only 14 plugin sales (down from 24), though free ones saw 31 downloads. I’ve started working on premium addons for my free mini-plugins—maybe that’s the key to make the most out of what’s already working.
Also, I didn’t publish anything new for the Business Bloomer Club this month (no course, no new signups). That’s on me. I’m thinking it’s time for a clearer structure—a monthly content calendar maybe? Technically, 2 new class recordings are added each month, so maybe I just need to promote that more effectively.
Anyhow, here’s your weekly round-up of WooCommerce tips and tricks. Enjoy!

WooCommerce Tips, Snippets & Tutorials
Here is a collection of posts to answer your biggest WooCommerce questions. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced store owner, these resources will help you optimize your WooCommerce store and grow your online business.
WooCommerce: Allow Guest Checkout For Existing Customers
If you disable Guest Checkout via the settings, all customers are required to either log into an existing account or register a new one during checkout. The problem? Returning customers who aren’t logged in will be forced to remember their credentials or manually reset their password, just to place another order. [Business Bloomer]
Fake Security Vulnerability Phishing Campaign Targets WooCommerce Users
The Patchstack team has been monitoring a large-scale phishing campaign using a sophisticated email and web-based phishing template to warn users of a supposed security vulnerability in their WooCommerce installation. This attack bears a very striking similarity to a phishing campaign we reported on previously. [Patchstack]
WordPress maintenance checklist: What to do (and when) to keep your site running smoothly
Many WordPress site issues, like slow load times, security vulnerabilities, and database bloat, stem from neglecting routine maintenance. A well-maintained site runs faster, remains secure, and delivers a better user experience. But keeping up with all these tasks can take time and effort. [Kinsta]
We’re now shipping AI-powered translations in our plugins
Conventionally, most WooCommerce extensions are served in English, as the primary language and, in the majority of cases, the sole language. But a (probably surprisingly) large number of the merchants we serve use our plugins in regions where English is not the primary language. [Kestrel]

ICYMI: WooCommerce Snippets
WooCommerce: Simplify Free Checkout
If your WooCommerce store occasionally offers free products—whether as part of a promotion, a free trial, or a lead magnet—you may have noticed that the default checkout still displays all billing (and shipping) fields. Thankfully, there’s a simple way to customize this behavior and show only the checkout fields you truly need. [Business Bloomer]
WooCommerce: Inject Ad After the nth Product @ Shop Page
Is it possible to insert a custom loop item, such as a promotional banner or a “fake” product, into the WooCommerce shop page after a specific number of real products – for example, after the third one? Spoiler alert: yes, it is! [Business Bloomer]
WooCommerce: Prevent Duplicate Orders
Sometimes customers accidentally submit the same order twice, or there may be a temporary issue with a WooCommerce payment gateway or a plugin conflict—such as the Sucuri Firewall problem in March 2025. This can result in duplicate charges, refunds, chargebacks, admin costs and a poor user experience. [Business Bloomer]
WooCommerce: Auto-Hide Products Without a Featured Image
Instead of manually checking and updating each product, you can use a simple PHP snippet to exclude products missing a featured image from your shop, category, and search pages. This approach keeps your store looking polished while preventing customers from encountering blank product thumbnails. The best part? It only takes a few lines of code to implement. [Business Bloomer]
WooCommerce: Hide Columns @ My Account Downloads Table
Want to customize the WooCommerce “Downloads” table on the My Account page? By default, WooCommerce displays multiple columns (“Product”, “Downloads remaining”, “Expires”, “Download”), but you may want to remove some for a cleaner look or to focus on essential information. [Business Bloomer]
WooCommerce: Add Column to Orders Table @ WP Dashboard
So the question is: how can we display additional columns in the orders table, so that we can display an order custom field, a specific product contained in the order, or anything order-related that can be “calculated” once we have access to the $order variable? Note: this snippet is not compatible with HPOS, as it relies on legacy hooks. For an HPOS-compatible solution, please consider the suggested free plugin. [Business Bloomer]
WooCommerce: Automatically Complete Processing Orders
If you wish to mark paid orders as “Completed” automatically (i.e. without having to manually login to the site and “check” processing orders one by one), you can use this code. Apparently, this won’t work with COD / BACS / Cheque orders when order total is > 0, so I also coded a free plugin to get this sorted. [Business Bloomer]
WooCommerce: Show/Hide Registration Form on Login Page
WooCommerce by default displays both login and registration forms on the same page when “Allow customers to create an account“ is enabled on the My Account page. However, for a cleaner and more user-friendly experience, you may want to hide the registration form initially. This method keeps the interface focused while still allowing easy access to the registration option. [Business Bloomer]
WooCommerce: Add “Leave a Review” Column to Downloads Table
This snippet modifies the WooCommerce My Account downloads section, ensuring customers can leave product reviews directly from their available downloads. The button appears only for products that haven’t been reviewed yet. [Business Bloomer]
