Hello there,
Welcome back to WooWeekly! I’m glad you’re here for another round of WooCommerce insights. Every week, I curate tips and tutorials for you to help you sharpen your WooCommerce skills.
It’s been a challenging few weeks, but things are looking up: the flu is gone, our kid bounced back and restarted sports just yesterday, my wife completed her national exam and can finally take a breather… and I’m simply relieved.
On the business side, I’ve had my first ever duplicate order (yes, after all these years!). No worries though – I found a way to prevent this from happening again, and you’ll find the snippet below.
April has started off a little slow plugin-wise. Just a reminder: I also “sell” free mini-plugins, so if you haven’t checked those out yet, maybe now’s a good time.
Also, WooCommerce Add Second Description To Product Category Pages Mini-Plugin is 50% off until April 13. That’s $14.50 for a lifetime license to improve your category page SEO and conversions. Not bad, eh?
Lastly, I’m prepping for the upcoming Google Sheets sync live class on Thursday, April 17. Registrations are still open – and if you know someone who’d benefit from this (it’s free, as always), send them the link. Would love to have a few more Woo people in the (virtual) room.
Anyhow, here’s your weekly round-up of WooCommerce tips and tricks. Enjoy!

WooCommerce Tips, Snippets & Tutorials
Here is a collection of posts to answer your biggest WooCommerce questions. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced store owner, these resources will help you optimize your WooCommerce store and grow your online business.
WooCommerce: Prevent Duplicate Orders
Sometimes customers accidentally submit the same order twice, or there may be a temporary issue with a WooCommerce payment gateway or a plugin conflict—such as the Sucuri Firewall problem in March 2025. This can result in duplicate charges, refunds, chargebacks, admin costs and a poor user experience. [Business Bloomer]
How to Create Automatic WooCommerce Cart Discounts
Instead of requiring customers to hunt down and enter coupon codes, these discounts apply themselves automatically when certain conditions are met. This creates a smoother shopping experience that customers love. [CheckoutWC]
Ecommerce Security for Beginners (2025 Edition)
Unfortunately, online stores are appealing targets for hackers and other cybercriminals since they handle large amounts of sensitive data. The threat of your ecommerce store being hacked is always looming. Ecommerce security is so vast and complex that finding ways to keep cybercriminals at bay can be challenging. We’re here to help you understand and show how to secure your online store. [Iconic]
How To Downgrade WooCommerce Version Without Losing Data
If a new version of WooCommerce introduces problems on your site, you might be looking for a short-term fix to get your store working right away. Downgrading WooCommerce gives you that option by letting you instantly turn things back to how they were before the update. [Kinsta]

ICYMI: WooCommerce Snippets
WooCommerce: Auto-Hide Products Without a Featured Image
Instead of manually checking and updating each product, you can use a simple PHP snippet to exclude products missing a featured image from your shop, category, and search pages. This approach keeps your store looking polished while preventing customers from encountering blank product thumbnails. The best part? It only takes a few lines of code to implement. [Business Bloomer]
WooCommerce: Hide Columns @ My Account Downloads Table
Want to customize the WooCommerce “Downloads” table on the My Account page? By default, WooCommerce displays multiple columns (“Product”, “Downloads remaining”, “Expires”, “Download”), but you may want to remove some for a cleaner look or to focus on essential information. [Business Bloomer]
WooCommerce: Add Column to Orders Table @ WP Dashboard
So the question is: how can we display additional columns in the orders table, so that we can display an order custom field, a specific product contained in the order, or anything order-related that can be “calculated” once we have access to the $order variable? Note: this snippet is not compatible with HPOS, as it relies on legacy hooks. For an HPOS-compatible solution, please consider the suggested free plugin. [Business Bloomer]
WooCommerce: Automatically Complete Processing Orders
If you wish to mark paid orders as “Completed” automatically (i.e. without having to manually login to the site and “check” processing orders one by one), you can use this code. Apparently, this won’t work with COD / BACS / Cheque orders when order total is > 0, so I also coded a free plugin to get this sorted. [Business Bloomer]
WooCommerce: Show/Hide Registration Form on Login Page
WooCommerce by default displays both login and registration forms on the same page when “Allow customers to create an account“ is enabled on the My Account page. However, for a cleaner and more user-friendly experience, you may want to hide the registration form initially. This method keeps the interface focused while still allowing easy access to the registration option. [Business Bloomer]
WooCommerce: Add “Leave a Review” Column to Downloads Table
This snippet modifies the WooCommerce My Account downloads section, ensuring customers can leave product reviews directly from their available downloads. The button appears only for products that haven’t been reviewed yet. [Business Bloomer]
WooCommerce: Search Orders By 2-Letter Country Code [HPOS]
WooCommerce’s order search function is essential for store admins, but with the introduction of High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS), searching by billing or shipping country code may no longer work as expected. If you’re used to quickly filtering orders by country, this limitation can be frustrating. Fortunately, there’s a simple way to bring back this functionality using a custom code snippet. [Business Bloomer]
WooCommerce: Programmatically Mark Products As Featured
For store owners managing hundreds of products, setting featured items manually is inefficient. A dynamic approach can save admin time by automatically marking products as featured based on specific conditions, such as category, price, or custom logic. [Business Bloomer]

Advanced Product Fields for WooCommerce is the market’s fastest product options plugin. It allows you to easily add extra options to your products, such as text boxes, file uploads, swatches, date pickers, and more! Get an exclusive 20% discount with coupon code: BBLOOMER

Deposits for WooCommerce plugin enables businesses to accept partial payments, allowing customers to pay deposits (fixed or percentage-based) for products, which is ideal for pre-orders, bookings, or custom orders. It integrates seamlessly with WooCommerce, offering flexible payment schedules, automated reminders, customizable deposit settings, checkout-based deposits, and more! Phone Validator and Formatter plugin seamlessly transforms your WooCommerce phone numbers into well-behaved citizens – valid, unified, and formatted just as you wish. It works at checkout, order updates, and profile changes, saving you headaches when you need to pass customers’ numbers to shipping providers and beyond.
