WooWeekly #529: Remove “Payments” | WP Transients | Woo Shortcodes

Hello there,

Welcome back to WooWeekly! I’m thrilled to have you join our community of WooCommerce enthusiasts. Each week, I carefully select tutorials just for you (and the other 19,442 subscribers!) so you can learn something new.

It’s been a bit of a slow start to the year for me, with family and non-business matters, plus a bit of WP drama.

But it’s time to dive back into business! This year, I’m working on a revenue calendar to track my progress towards my 2025 salary goal. Fingers crossed, I can keep it up! Like everything in business, it’s an experiment and might end up being a great tool. Or not.

Speaking of revenue goals, my plugin sales are off to a slow start this January (only 4 so far!), but one of my top sellers, “WooCommerce Add To: Cc: Bcc: Email Recipients Mini-Plugin” happens to be 50% off until January 19. Check it out here, together with the other 30 Business Bloomer plugins.

Finally, I’m hosting a live, free masterclass tomorrow, January 16, titled “Optimize WooCommerce Performance with WordPress Transients“. It’s going to be an exciting session, and I can’t wait to share how transients can save your (PHP) life. Register now and join 78 attendees!

In the meantime, here’s your weekly round-up of WooCommerce tips and tricks. Enjoy!

ICYMI: WooCommerce Snippets

WooCommerce: Purchase History (With Review Buttons) @ My Account

If you’re running a WooCommerce store, you know how important product reviews are for building trust and boosting sales. But as your product catalog grows, it can become hard for customers to keep track of which purchases still need reviews. That’s where a Purchase History tab comes in handy. Imagine offering your customers a simple way to see all their previous purchases, with a clear indicator of which items they haven’t reviewed yet. [Business Bloomer]

WooCommerce: Add Custom Badge To Featured Products @ Shop Page

If you’ve ever wanted to customize how WooCommerce featured products appear on your classic product grid (Shop, Category, Tag, archive, search, shortcode pages) or Product Collection block, you’re in the right place! [Business Bloomer]

WooCommerce: How to Split Orders After Purchase

Splitting WooCommerce orders programmatically can be incredibly useful for store owners who need to manage complex workflows. Whether you’re dealing with pre-orders, dropshipping, or simply organizing items for multiple shipments, dividing an order based on its products ensures smoother operations and a better customer experience. [Business Bloomer]

WooCommerce: Display Only Products On Sale @ Shop

In my own WooCommerce shop, for Black Friday, I wanted to send customers directly to the Shop page showcasing only items on sale. To my surprise, WooCommerce doesn’t provide a built-in way to sort products by “on sale” out of the box. Now, with a simple code snippet, you can enable a “Sort by On Sale” feature, or even use the “orderby=on_sale” parameter with your Shop page URL to show sale items effortlessly! [Business Bloomer]

WooCommerce: Edit “x customer reviews” String @ Single Product Page

While WooCommerce provides a default review display, you may want to customize it to fit your specific needs. This tutorial will guide you through the process of editing the “x customer reviews” text on a single product page. [Business Bloomer]

WooCommerce: “Last Chance” Category with Expiring Sale Products

When managing a WooCommerce store, your sales strategy can be a powerful way to engage customers and drive urgency. One cool trick is featuring products with sale prices about to expire (“sale price end date“) in a custom product category. We’ve already seen how to populate a “Sale” category, but this time I’d like to get only the sale products with a sale end date! [Business Bloomer]

Advanced Product Fields for WooCommerce is the market’s fastest product options plugin. It allows you to easily add extra options to your products, such as text boxes, file uploads, swatches, date pickers, and more! Get an exclusive 20% discount with coupon code: BBLOOMER
