Here are a few notes written by David of PeachPay, WooWeekly co-author.
Liquid Web: 25 Years Later
Liquid Web is celebrating its 25-year anniversary. In that time, it has grown to encompass high-performance managed hosting under its flagship brand, digital commerce cloud hosting and services under Nexcess, WordPress plugin development under StellarWP, and enterprise development under Modern Tribe. In addition, it owns iThemes, Restrict Content Pro, The Events Calendar, Iconic, KadenceWP, GiveWP, and LearnDash. It boasts 500k+ sites, 175k software subscribers, and 2.5M+ free version software users.
How Many Top Ecommerce Stores are Powered by WooCommerce?
It’s a question I often ask, a scratch I just can’t itch. My view is that the WooCommerce ecosystem suffers from a lack of high-volume store visibility. We just don’t know who the biggest players in the space are. This is obviously to be expected from an open-source ecommerce solution that rejects the trappings of top-down systems, including more data gathering. However, that has not stopped some from trying to arrive at an answer. In a recent article I read about Shopify stock, Jamie Louko calculates that 20% of the top 10k online stores are powered by Shopify, while 9% are powered by WooCommerce. Somehow WooCommerce’s share seems a little high to me… I’d love it to be true, though.
Sandbox Sites Return to WooCommerce
Select extensions on WooCommerce.com can now be loaded on a private test site that self-destructs after 30 days. Neat! Read more about it here.
3. ICYMI: WooCommerce Articles
WooCommerce: Populate Checkout Fields From URL
On top of adding products to cart via URL and redirect to checkout, there is a way to also fill out the Checkout page input fields within the same link. This could be super handy when you know the billing/shipping details of a registered or guest customer and want to speed up the order process. ~ Rodolfo Melogli, Business Bloomer
WooCommerce: Why & How to Improve Product Filters
By improving product filters in your WooCommerce online store, you can help customers narrow down their search. This makes it easier for them to find the products they’re looking for. ~ Rodolfo Melogli, Business Bloomer
WooCommerce: Rename “Completed” Order Status
Now, wouldn’t it be cool if we could rename the “completed” order status label to something else? This would make everyone’s life easier. Well, thankfully with a few lines of code this is definitely possible… enjoy! ~ Rodolfo Melogli, Business Bloomer
WooCommerce: How to Shop As a Customer
So, in this article, we’ll review the top Shop As A Customer WooCommerce plugins and their main features. But first, let’s see how shopping as a customer can benefit your business. ~ Rodolfo Melogli, Business Bloomer
