2. David’s WooCommerce Highlights

Here are a few notes written by David of PeachPay, WooWeekly co-author.

Are all WooCommerce Payment Gateways Created Equal?

“No, they are definitely not. And you will be surprised, maybe even shocked, to find out how relevant this is” – Aleksander Vucenovic. Aleksandar is the mastermind behind Pixel Manager, the easiest way to track traffic and conversions for WooCommerce stores. It turns out he has quite a bit to say about payment gateways. The reason, as he explains in his post on the subject, is because Pixel Manager actually has a tracking accuracy report based on payment gateways in the debug section of the plugin. In addition to being a solid feature, this has put Aleksander in a position to share some important insights.

WooCommerce to Stop Registering Customizer Options

Beginning with version 6.9 (expected release: September 2022), WooCommerce will stop registering Customizer options when a block theme is active. If you’re a developer who still registers settings within the WooCommerce panel in the Customizer, this applies to you! Read more in the WP Tavern article here

Defender Rolls out WooCommerce Integration

WPMU Dev’s security plugin, Defender, recently rolled out 3 new 2FA features: WooCommerce integration, disabling users, and linking to a custom graphic URL. Read more about it here.
