How you doing?
It’s a lovely Wednesday here in Sicily. It’s my soon-to-be mother-in-law’s birthday today, so in good Sicilian style we go to restaurant and stay there for a few hours. Non-stop eating. Wish me luck…
Anyhow, welcome back to WCWeekly! My content writing activities are on hold for July and August, so in this “Beach Edition” I will cover one WooCommerce topic, so that you can improve your knowledge around that.
Stay safe and be happy!
The Importance of Custom Prices
We work with ecommerce websites, hence product prices are the most important thing for store managers and end users. Being able to manipulate them, customize them, override them, hide them, move them and bulk edit them are definitely some of the most common WooCommerce client requests.
So, let’s see if, over the years, you missed on any of my existing “price” tutorials. You never know 🙂
First of all, you may want to display the RRP/MSRP beside the actual product price (https://www.businessbloomer.com/woocommerce-display-rrp-msrp-manufacturer-price/) or maybe a prefix/suffix combo: https://www.businessbloomer.com/woocommerce-add-prefix-suffix-product-prices/
Sometimes, hiding prices is your only way to go:
- WooCommerce: Hide Prices on the Shop & Category Pages
- WooCommerce: Hide Price & Add to Cart for Logged Out Users
- WooCommerce: How to Hide a Cart Table Column (e.g. Price)
- WooCommerce: How to Enable Catalog Mode?
- WooCommerce B2B: How to Set Up a Wholesale Store
Of course, you probably want to customize variable products, e.g. the “price range” (https://www.businessbloomer.com/disable-variable-product-price-range-woocommerce/) or always showing prices even if all variations have the same price (https://www.businessbloomer.com/woocommerce-always-display-single-variation-price/).
Besides, if you have discounted items, then these should help:
- WooCommerce: Display Prices as “Was $$$ – Now $$$ – Save $$$”
- WooCommerce: Display % Discount @ Shop & Loop Pages
- WooCommerce: Display Regular & Sale Price @ Cart Table
- WooCommerce: Display Total Discount / Savings @ Cart
For more advanced stuff, it’s nice to know how to Set / Override Product Price Programmatically, Display “FREE” Instead of $0.00, or even a contact form if the product comes with no price.
Finally, it’s always good to know how to Edit Product Prices in Bulk, how to code Dynamic Pricing without a plugin or Calculate Product Prices with Custom Formulas.
