How you doing?
It’s a warm Wednesday here in Sicily. July has been such a weird month for Sicily so far.
Anyhow, welcome back to WooCommerce Weekly – in this “Beach Edition” I will cover one WooCommerce topic, so that you can hopefully improve your knowledge around that.
Stay safe and be happy!
The Importance of WooCommerce Analytics
Ecommerce is nothing without analytics.
That’s right, and even WooCommerce found out the “Reports” section in the dashboard was pretty poor for store managers (that’s why they worked on it and released the new “Analytics” section lately).
Problem is that analytics must be used. Simply reading them gives you no control and no decision power.
That’s why I’ve disabled “WooCommerce Admin” on Business Bloomer with https://wordpress.org/plugins/disable-dashboard-for-woocommerce/ (it’s the only way, because snippets won’t work in functions.php as they’re called too soon), removed admin bloat, and started using third party analytics providers.
First of all, Google Analytics. It’s free, plugin is free (https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-google-analytics-integration/), and it integrates with Woo once “enhanced ecommerce” is enabled in GA. You get traffic, sources, content and ecommerce tracking out of the box. You find screenshots here: https://www.businessbloomer.com/advanced-woocommerce-tracking-analytics-reports-exports-segmentation/
Once that’s working, you also need a specific WooCommerce analytics tracker. Something that calculates your AOV, LTV, revenue projections, that exports and filters orders, that prints custom reports and that manages cart abandonment and follow up emails. All is explained here: https://www.businessbloomer.com/advanced-woocommerce-tracking-analytics-reports-exports-segmentation/
Now that you have everything set up, and you have data, it’s time to make decisions. That’s what’s data is for.
Here, for example, are 5 ways to use analytics to drive more sales: https://www.businessbloomer.com/drive-sales-woocommerce/
Besides, you can increase your AOV (https://www.businessbloomer.com/woocommerce-increase-aov/), sales (https://www.businessbloomer.com/woocommerce-sales/) and conversion rate (https://www.businessbloomer.com/woocommerce-how-to-customize-checkout-for-conversions/).
If you use data smartly, you can make more money. Make it a goal for August.
